Mire Taxidermy ,LLC

Specializing in waterfowl

Making hunting memories last a lifetime

About Us and Our Business

We are a small business located in South Louisiana in Acadia Parish. Our business is based on the belief that our customers' needs are of the utmost importance. We are committed to meeting those needs. As a result, a high percentage of our business is from repeat customers and referrals. We would welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and deliver you the best service in the taxidermy industry. Currently we just specialize in waterfowl but have started learning to mount small mammals such as squirrels. We will keep you updated when we expand to mammals. We only produce the best so we will not start doing anything we are not 100% at. That is quality assurance you as a customer can count on.

In 2014 we finally completed all the requirements in the Professional Division at the LTA Competition and are now considered Master Taxidermists.

Jason Mire - Master Taxidermist - Waterfowl

I am an outdoorsman who loves hunting and fishing. I worked in the oilfield industry for over 25 years and now that I retired and am home all the time, I was looking for a different hobby. Since I love duck hunting more than any other sport and wanting to have some birds mounted without the cost, I decided to start learning on my own. First, I bought one of the kits you can get in the taxidermy supply catalog. Well, lets just say I thought it came out pretty good. LOL! The key word here is thought. I then got on the internet and watched videos on mounting and tried again. It was a little better than the first but not by much. Finally, I decided to contact other taxidermist who were willing to show me the ropes. I tell you what, looking at my first couple of mounts compared to the ones I did under the watchful eye of a Taxidermist was like night and day. After plenty of practice on my own birds one of my taxidermy friends talked me into entering a few birds in the LTA Competition in the Professional Division. I did pretty darn good in it and decided that I was ready to start mounting for the public. I am now a licensed taxidermist and have a little shop behind my house that I do all my work in and even got my wife involved in taxidermy to help me out. I have always had the work ethic of if you can't give it everything you got and do the best that you can then why do it. So you know that you will be getting the best from me in every mount.

Paula Mire - Master Taxidermist - Waterfowl/Shellfish

I am the proud mother of 4 children.

Connor - 24, Cammie - 22, Bryson - 18, and Kendall - 15.  I am a stay at home mom who needed something to do during the day to stay busy and decided to learn the taxidermy trade from my husband, Jason. I am a licensed master taxidermist who is still learning like everyone else in this profession and hope to one day contribute my growing knowledge to whomever is willing to learn. I am a perfectionist and will not quit until every mount is perfect. Which can be a bit of a problem when you have other things to do. That should also tell you about what kind of mount will be produced by me and rest assured that my husband is by my side to help out where it is needed. I will do my best to create a great mount for you so you can show off those hunting memories. We just recently started to mount mammals. Keep checking back with us for updated pictures and price lists. Thanks for taking the time to learn about our business and about us and maybe one day Mire Taxidermy will become your main stop for your taxidermy needs.
